TYPES OF WORK

Most people we employ will be harvesting fruit, mostly strawberries, but there are a few vacancies for people to carry out work associated with the growing of the fruit before, during and post harvest.

General Work:

• Harvesting fruit
• Erecting and maintaining plastic tunnels which protect the strawberry beds
• Planting
• Weeding

(For these jobs it is not necessary for you to be able to speak English, but having some understanding of English will be helpful).

Supervisory Work:

• Scan Operator
• Fruit tray stacker
• Field Walker to oversee the fruit is being picked properly

(For these jobs you need to be able to speak and understand the English language to a good level).

Skilled Work:

• Tractor Driver
• Fork Lift Truck Driver
• Operator of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment
• Bus Driver

(Being able to speak and understand English language will be an advantage for these jobs).

Pack House Work:

• Supervisors
• Quality controllers
• Line operators
• Fruit graders
• Label machine operators

(For the supervisory work you need to be able to speak and understand the English language to a good standard).

Full training will be given to all workers before they start their job.

You must only apply to work if you are prepared to carry out strawberry harvesting as no other work can be guaranteed.
