Most people we employ will be harvesting produce, mostly strawberries. There are a few vacancies for people to carry out work associated with the growing of the fruit before, during and post harvest.
General Work
- Harvesting fruit
- Erecting and maintaining plastic tunnels which protect the strawberry beds
- Planting
- Weeding
(For these jobs it is not necessary for you to be able to speak English, but having some understanding of English will be helpful.)
Supervisory Work
- Scan Operator
- Fruit tray stacker
- Field Walker to ensure that the fruit is being picked properly
(For these jobs you need to be able to speak and understand the English language to a good level.)
Skilled Work
- Tractor Driver
- Fork Lift Truck Driver
- Operator of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment
- Bus Driver
- Spray Operator
- Irrigation Operator
(Being able to speak and understand English language will be an advantage for these jobs.)
Pack House Work
- Supervisors
- Quality controllers
- Line operators
- Fruit graders
- Label machine operators
(For the supervisory work you need to be able to speak and understand the English language to a good standard.)
Due to current legislation such work as bus driving, pack house and construction work is not available to workers under a SAWS work permit.
Full training will be given to all workers before they start their job.
