INDEPENDENT TRAVEL

If arriving in London be very careful, it is a dangerous place as criminals know that the bus station is an arrival point for foreign people. If approached by suspicious people walk away, seek advice from the police, look after your belongings and stay with friends. In an emergency call the Police by dialling 999.

GETTING TO BROOK FARM OR BRIERLEY CAMPSITE

By train from London Victoria station - about 3.5 hours

• Take the Underground from London Victoria to Paddington.
• Take a train for Cardiff Central.
• Exit the train at Newport.
• Take a train for Manchester Piccadilly.
• Exit the train at Hereford.

By train from London Heathrow Airport - about 3 hours

• Take the Shuttle Bus to Reading Train Station;
• Take a train for Cardiff Central;
• Exit the train at Newport;
• Take a train for Manchester Piccadilly;
• Exit the train at Hereford.

By bus from London Victoria station - about 4.5 hours

• Take the National Express/413 service to Hereford;

By bus from London Heathrow Airport - about 4 hours

• Take the National Express 413 service to Hereford;

From Hereford, you will need to get to either Brook Farm, Marden or Brierley Court, near Leominster.

There are taxi services available and a regular bus service to Brook Farm, Marden.

Bus Service to Marden

• Go to the City Bus Station at the Shire Hall;
• Take the bus No 426 (Ask to be put off the bus at the Volunteer Pub Marden);
• When you get off the bus, walk about 150 meters down the road to the farm gates.

GETTING TO HERNHILL NURSERY KENT

By train from London Victoria train station - about 1.2 hours

• Take South Eastern Trains for Faversham;

By train from London Heathrow Airport - about 2.5 hours

• Take the Underground from Paddington Station to London Victoria; 
• Take a South Eastern train for Faversham.

By bus from London Victoria station - about 2 hours

Take National Express Shuttle/020 for Dover, Pencester Road. Exit at Hempstead Valley / Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre.

By bus from London Heathrow Airport - about 2.5 hours

• Take National Express/412 towards London Victoria bus station
• Take National Express Shuttle/020 towards Dover, Pencester Road. Exit at Hempstead Valley / Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre.
• There is no direct bus or train service to Hernhill Nursery. Once in Faversham, you can get to Hernhill Nursery by taxi.

LOST LUGGAGE

If on arrival your luggage does not arrive with you:

• Contact the airline or service agent before leaving the luggage hall. Give the agent the address of the farm where you are going to work.
• Give the agent the farm phone number and your mobile if you have one.
• Take the name of the airport official who assisted you and a telephone number for enquiries.
• Make a note of any reference number you are given for making contact with the airport.
• On arrival at the farm report it to the Campsite Office giving all the details.
